Aims and Scope
Romanian Journal of Ophthalmology (RJO) is an inclusive and integrative open-access journal, free to its authors and readers, without any article processing charges (APC), published quarterly both in print and online, by SRO (Societatea Romana de Oftalmologie – Romanian Society of Ophthalmology). Our journal encourages and celebrates diversity and inclusion in authorship and the selection of reviewers.
The journal is indexed within PubMed, and the authors benefit from a rigorous peer review, free English editing service for accepted papers, and professional production.
Our journal is dedicated to advancing knowledge about ophthalmology in different policy sectors and national and international contexts. The journal hosts contributions from both national and international authors. RJO publishes reviews, general articles, and case reports.
RJO embraces methodological pluralism, accepting contributions based on qualitative, quantitative, as well as mixed methods. The most important aim of the journal is to publish research that has high translation value, meaning research that makes a broad range of findings available to ophthalmologists and not solely.
RJO is inclusive and integrative, meaning that we welcome contributions that address ophthalmological issues from different disciplinary approaches and that make the research and ideas of the authors accessible to both academics and physicians and also other audiences. Thus, we encourage authors from different medical fields to contribute with articles also connected to ophthalmology.
We are committed to fostering equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of our journal, encouraging submissions from authors of different institutional affiliations, nationalities, and career stages.
Our Editorial Board reflects that we are striving to include members both from Romania and abroad.
